GOP’s Plan For The DOJ
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., recently spoke out on Newsmax about the urgent need to overhaul the Department of Justice, calling for a complete reform from top to bottom. He made it clear that the agency is currently plagued by corruption and partisanship, and that it’s time for real accountability.
“Jack Smith has to go — his entire team needs to be fired,” Biggs stated on “Saturday Report.” “The DOJ is fundamentally broken, and it needs to be cleaned up, starting with its leadership. Anyone who doesn’t see that hasn’t been paying attention to the politicization of the justice system over the last decade.”
Biggs went on to highlight some of the most egregious examples of DOJ overreach, including the controversial exoneration of Hillary Clinton despite her mishandling of classified materials, as well as the baseless Russia collusion investigation. He emphasized that these actions, among many others, were not just mistakes but deliberate attempts to target and undermine political opponents. “For too long, the DOJ has been used as a political weapon,” Biggs said. “That must end.”
The congressman also weighed in on the ongoing search for a new Attorney General, particularly in light of former Rep. Matt Gaetz’s decision to withdraw from consideration. While Biggs expressed admiration for Gaetz, he praised President-elect Donald Trump’s choice of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. “Matt Gaetz is a fantastic lawyer, and he would have been a great AG. But I believe Pam Bondi is going to do an excellent job leading the DOJ and restoring integrity to the department,” Biggs concluded.
For conservatives, the message is clear: the Department of Justice must be reformed to ensure it serves the American people, not political elites. It’s time to drain the swamp and restore fairness to our justice system.
