Trump Arrives In Washington

President-elect Donald Trump made his way to Washington, D.C., on Saturday evening ahead of his historic inauguration. Arriving at Dulles International Airport in Virginia just after 7 p.m., Trump, accompanied by his wife Melania and their son Barron, began his journey toward the nation’s capital. The family boarded Air Force One earlier that day, departing from Palm Beach International Airport in Florida around 4:30 p.m. Trump waved to supporters as he ascended the aircraft’s steps, marking another symbolic moment in his ascent to the presidency.

Earlier in the afternoon, members of the Trump family, including Eric and Lara Trump, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, along with their children, also boarded a separate flight for the journey to Washington. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Trump’s incoming press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, celebrated the family’s departure from Mar-a-Lago, saying, “The President and First Lady are leaving Mar-a-Lago now for Washington, DC, on a great journey of success for our country!”

Upon arrival in D.C., Trump is set to take part in a full schedule of events leading up to his swearing-in. On Sunday, he will hold a rally at Capital One Arena at 3 p.m., a show of strength and unity for his supporters. Monday morning will see Trump and his family attending a service at St. John’s Church, a short walk from the White House. The inauguration ceremony itself, originally planned for the National Mall, will now take place indoors in the Capitol Rotunda due to freezing temperatures. Trump will then address the nation before joining his supporters at the indoor parade at Capital One Arena.

Later that evening, Trump will attend the Liberty Ball and the Commander in Chief Ball, capping off a historic day with celebrations honoring his victory and the promise of a brighter future for America.
