Trump Gets Even More Praise
Mick Mulvaney, former acting White House Chief of Staff under President Donald Trump, recently weighed in on the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, emphasizing that Trump’s influence played a crucial role in the outcome. While acknowledging that both the Biden administration and the incoming Trump team were involved due to the transition period, Mulvaney made it clear that Trump’s leadership cannot be overlooked.
“Look, both administrations had their part to play, but there’s no question that President Trump’s impact was significant,” Mulvaney stated during an appearance on NewNation’s “Morning in America.” He further emphasized that Trump’s election had a profound effect on the dynamics of negotiations. “The Trump team will certainly take credit for this. The former president’s approach to foreign policy set a tone that continues to resonate,” Mulvaney added.
President Trump, ever vocal about his accomplishments, didn’t hesitate to take credit for the ceasefire agreement. In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared, “This EPIC ceasefire agreement could have only happened as a result of our Historic Victory in November.” He framed the ceasefire as a direct result of his 2024 presidential campaign, positioning himself as the strong leader capable of achieving peace. “Imagine all of the wonderful things that will happen when I return to the White House,” Trump said, adding that his administration would continue to secure victories for the U.S. and its allies.
While President Biden also claimed responsibility for the deal, his response to a reporter’s question about credit was noticeably irritated. “Is that a joke?” Biden retorted, insisting that the terms of the ceasefire had been negotiated under his administration. Nevertheless, both Trump’s and Biden’s envoys were involved in discussions that have led to the expected release of hostages.
This diplomatic success showcases the ongoing influence of Trump’s foreign policy approach, which emphasizes strength, leadership, and a commitment to securing peace on America’s terms. As Mulvaney put it, “It’s hard to deny that the election of Donald Trump had a dramatic impact on the dynamics of these discussions,” underscoring how Trump’s leadership continues to shape global negotiations even when he is not in office.
