During the NCAA Tournament, Kamala Harris, the Vice President and a Howard University alumnus, was shockingly booed by members of the audience while she watched her former school’s defeat against Kansas.
According to Newsweek, on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, Kamala Harris, a 1986 graduate of the Washington D.C. college, was met with a hostile welcome when she appeared on the jumbotron during the basketball game.
The political leanings of the audience at the March Madness event could have contributed to the negative response Kamala Harris received. It is worth noting that Kansas and Iowa, both Republican states that supported Donald Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections, were in attendance.
During the latter part of 2021 and throughout 2022, there was a widespread occurrence of chants consisting of profanity directed at Joe Biden, such as “f*** Joe Biden”, in various sporting events across the United States. Eventually, the phrase evolved into “let’s go Brandon,” which became a popular catchphrase among Republicans, with the intention of mocking Joe Biden.
Videos of the moment when Kamala Harris was greeted with disapproving boos as she appeared on screen at the stadium have circulated on various social media platforms.
After the Howard Bison’s defeat to the Kansas Jayhawks, Kamala Harris visited the team in their locker room to offer words of encouragement and commend the players.
Kamala told the players, “You played hard. You played to the very last second. You made all us Bisons proud. You hustled out there, you are smart, you are disciplined. You put everything you had into the game.”

Kamala Harris and Joe Biden should know better than to show their faces at major events across the country. The American people have made it clear that they are very upset with them and they need to work harder to get the country to where it was like when Donald Trump was in office.
