GOP Launches Boycott Over Trump

In a surprising turn of events, former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan said that he will refuse to attend the upcoming 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee if former President Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination.

Paul Ryan must think that people want him to even be there.

According to Insider, Paul Ryan worked with Donald Trump to pass the Republican-authored Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017.

After Ryan left office, he strongly spoke out against Donald Trump and said that he didn’t want him to serve a second term as president and even said there is no chance he can win again.

When speaking to reporters, Ryan was asked if he was going to attend the 2024 Republican National Convention. Ryan replied, “It depends on who the nominee is. I’ll be here if it’s someone not named Trump.”

Ryan later added, “I’m not interested in participating in that, no. Even in Wisconsin,” Wisconsin in Ryan’s home state and for him to not attend would get major attention from the liberal media.

In 2022, Paul Ryan also condemned Trump and said, “I think anybody not named Trump, I think is so much more likely to win the White House for us. We know we’re so much more likely to lose with Trump because of the fact that he is not popular with suburban voters that we’re going to want to win.”

Ryan then said that the GOP will lose with Trump as their leader in 2024. “I guess in some places we’re just going to keep recording losses until we learn the lesson. I’m hopeful that for the presidency, we’ll learn the lesson in time for 2024,” Ryan said.
