Will he pay for his lies?

Actor Jussie Smollett, who went viral after lying about a hate crime committed against him by Trump supporters in 2019, is expected to go to trial next week following a 3 year delay.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Smollett claimed that he was targeted by two Trump supporters in the middle of the night and a noose was tied around his neck while they were making racist and homophobic slurs against him.

Investigators quickly found many errors in Smollett’s story and now he is being tried for six counts of disorderly conduct for making false reports to police officers.

Smollett’s lawyers are claiming that he is being unfairly prejudged ahead of his trial and Smollett is still standing by his claims.
