Trump Reveals Another Hire
In a series of announcements made on Truth Social, President-elect Donald Trump revealed several key appointments for his upcoming administration. These selections reflect his continued commitment to bolstering the economy, reducing government overreach, and enhancing national security—all in line with the conservative values that have resonated with his base.
Among the first picks, Trump named Steven Gill Bradbury as the next Deputy Secretary of Transportation. Bradbury, who served as the General Counsel for the Department of Transportation during Trump’s first term, played a pivotal role in rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure and cutting job-killing regulations. His deep legal expertise, including clerking for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, makes him well-suited to continue Trump’s mission to modernize America’s transportation system. He will serve alongside Sean Duffy, Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Transportation, pending Senate confirmation.
Trump also appointed Katharine MacGregor as Deputy Secretary of the Interior. MacGregor, who was previously involved in the Trump administration’s efforts to make America energy dominant, will help further those goals in her new role. She has a strong background in environmental services at NextEra Energy and has already demonstrated leadership during Trump’s first term, particularly in organizing the “Salute to America” event at the National Mall.
In energy matters, James P. Danly was named Deputy Secretary of Energy. A retired U.S. Army officer and Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient, Danly’s record as a leader at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission speaks for itself. Under Trump’s first term, he worked tirelessly to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and ensure the availability of affordable energy for all Americans.
Other key appointments include economist Casey B. Mulligan, who will serve as Chief Counsel for Advocacy at the Small Business Administration. Mulligan is known for his expertise in understanding and eliminating burdensome regulations that stifle small business growth. Trump also nominated Paul R. Lawrence to be Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Lawrence, a former Under Secretary of Benefits, helped significantly reduce the VA claims backlog during Trump’s first term.
Finally, Trump appointed David Fotouhi as Deputy Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Fotouhi is committed to prioritizing clean air, water, and soil for all Americans, a crucial focus for Trump’s second term as he works to balance environmental concerns with economic growth.
These appointments reflect a bold and focused agenda to continue advancing America’s prosperity and security, while staying true to the values of limited government and American exceptionalism.
