Republican Reveals The Truth About Trump’s Debate
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum appeared on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” on Wednesday to criticize the fairness of the debate held the previous night between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. According to Burgum, the debate moderators from ABC News displayed a clear bias toward Harris, making it an uneven contest.
Burgum highlighted the imbalance, stating, “It was evident that the debate was skewed three against one. The moderators consistently shielded Kamala Harris, failing to press her with tough questions or follow-ups. For instance, Harris spoke about the opioid crisis, yet the moderators didn’t address the staggering number of overdose deaths that have occurred since Biden and Harris assumed office—over 330,000 lives lost in the first three years alone.”
The governor also noted that Harris’s previous stance on drug legalization, including substances like cocaine and fentanyl, was not addressed by the moderators. “Just days before the debate, it came to light that Harris had supported the legalization of personal use of all drugs back in 2019,” Burgum said. “These are crucial questions that should have been raised, but instead, the moderators let her off the hook.”
Furthermore, Burgum criticized Harris’s economic proposals, particularly her mention of price controls, which Trump’s campaign had previously condemned as a move toward Venezuelan-style socialism. “Harris had touted these price controls a few weeks ago, but she conveniently avoided discussing them during the debate. The moderators should have questioned her about this significant policy shift, but instead, they allowed her to evade the topic.”
Looking ahead, Burgum predicted that the debate would quickly fade from public discussion. “Trump supporters are unwavering, and so are Harris’s. The real impact will be seen in swing states and counties. Voters are yearning for a return to the economic stability and international peace that characterized the Trump administration, preferring lower costs and stronger security over the current administration’s policies.”
