Is Trump Wrong For Calling Kamala 'Comrade'?

Ben Carson Hits Kamala With Brutal Reality Check

Dr. Ben Carson recently critiqued Vice President Kamala Harris, suggesting she lacks a clear understanding of her own policies and relies on others to define them for her. As the former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration, Carson offered his insights ahead of the upcoming presidential debate, which he believes will be pivotal in shaping the current election cycle.

Carson, speaking on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” remarked that Harris seems to be preparing for the debate by strategizing on how to provoke a reaction from former President Donald Trump. He questioned Harris’s grasp of her own policies, commenting, “She needs to be told what her policies are, because she doesn’t really know what they are; nobody else does either.” In contrast, Carson highlighted that Trump, known for his forthrightness, doesn’t need extensive preparation. “Donald Trump doesn’t have to prep, because the truth is always the truth. You don’t have to try to figure out what things will resonate with people, you just say who you are. He’s very transparent. And I think the people will appreciate that.”

Since securing the Democratic nomination for 2024, Harris has shifted her stance on several major issues. She has walked back on her earlier positions, such as her call to ban fracking and her previous views on border security. In her initial interview as a presidential candidate, she maintained that her core values remain unchanged. Carson expressed skepticism about these claims, questioning whether her recent policy reversals indicate a shift in her underlying beliefs.

Carson anticipated that the debate would highlight a contrast between Trump’s consistent policy record and Harris’s attempt to distance herself from her past positions. “What you’re going to see in the debate is Donald Trump running on his past policies, and Kamala Harris running away from her past policies,” he noted. “So, it should make for a very, very interesting evening.”

The upcoming debate, scheduled to be hosted by ABC News, will follow a muted-microphone format similar to the one used by CNN in previous debates. Harris has agreed to these rules, as confirmed by her team last week. Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller expressed enthusiasm about the debate format, emphasizing that it will give voters a clear view of each candidate’s vision for the country’s future.
