Jan 6th Panel Launches New Investigation On Who?
In a shocking turn of events, the Jan 6 Committee has called for the launch of a formal ethics inquiry into House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy along with a number of Trump allies for their refusal to cooperate with the probe.
According to The Hill, the Jan 6 Panel’s recommendation to the House Ethics Committee is a more timid approach than issuing criminal referrals to the Justice Department however many Republicans believe it is still entirely unjust and out of bounds.
Sadly however this new ethics complaint will now put Republican Kevin McCarthy at the center of a major issue along with Republicans Jim Jordan, Scott Perry and Andy Biggs.
The Jan 6 Panel had initially asked McCarthy, Jordan, Perry and Biggs to voluntarily appear before them however after they refused to do they they decided to get revenge on them this way for it.
While the Jan 6 Committee now appears to be closing up shop and disbanding, their final actions have made it so that Trump and other Republicans will have to deal with the repercussions for much much longer.
It’s important to remember that these are all just recommendations from the Jan 6 Committee. It is unclear if the Ethics panel will actually launch an investigation however it known that a number of lawmakers in Congress have made it their sole mission to destroy former President Donald Trump.
