House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries dismissed concerns that the Democratic Party is drifting too far left. He noted that President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged having a working relationship with New York City’s mayor.
Trump and Mamdani have met at the White House on multiple occasions, surprising many political observers. Photos from those meetings showed the two leaders greeting each other warmly despite their sharp ideological differences.
President Trump Issues Warning
Although the meetings appeared cordial, President Trump made his views unmistakably clear after the latest Democratic primary results.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump declared that America would “never be a Communist Country,” signaling continued opposition to the growing influence of democratic socialist candidates.
