Biden To Be Kicked Off 2024 Ballot?

Here’s what happened…

Ohio’s upcoming general election might pose a hurdle for President Biden’s bid to secure a spot on the state’s ballot, as the top election official, Republican Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, has cautioned the Biden campaign regarding a critical deadline they risk missing.

In a letter obtained by ABC News and addressed to Ohio Democratic Party Chairwoman Liz Walters, LaRose highlighted a significant disparity between the schedule of the Democratic National Convention and Ohio’s deadline for certifying presidential candidates. He pointed out that while the convention is slated for August 19, 2024, the deadline for certification in Ohio falls on August 7 of the same year.

Expressing concern over this misalignment, LaRose’s legal counsel, Paul Disantis, emphasized the necessity for either advancing the convention date or enacting an exception to Ohio’s statutory requirements by May 9, 2024, to ensure Biden’s eligibility for the ballot.

Although the Biden campaign refrained from immediate comment, they assured ABC News of their vigilance regarding the situation in Ohio and maintained confidence in Biden’s inclusion on all 50 states’ ballots.

Meanwhile, the Ohio Democratic Party has yet to issue a public response to LaRose’s correspondence, adding to the uncertainty surrounding Biden’s ballot eligibility in the state.

This development coincides with internal Democratic Party concerns revealed in a separate memo, suggesting a sense of alarm regarding the unintended consequences of their voter registration efforts. The memo, reported by the Washington Post, raised fears that these efforts, intended to be nonpartisan, could inadvertently bolster support for former President Trump.

The memo’s assertion that blind registration of nonvoters might inadvertently aid Trump’s political ambitions challenges the party’s long-standing voter registration strategy. Traditionally aimed at expanding the voter base favorably for Democrats, the memo suggests a shift towards targeted registration efforts within specific, heavily pro-Biden demographics.

The memo’s disclosure underscores growing tensions within the Democratic Party regarding the most effective approach to voter outreach and registration, particularly in light of Trump’s unexpected support among certain voter segments.
