Biden Loses In Court

A federal judge has just halted President Biden and his administration from ending former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” immigration policy.

According to The Hill, the policy which was enacted in 2019 sends border crosses to Mexico to await their legal proceedings. President Biden attempted to end the policy which has lead to over 70,000 asylum-seekers being sent back to Mexico from the United States.

Texas and Missouri moved to sue Biden over the decision to end the “Remain in Mexico” policy which went to the Supreme Court and was then sent to a lower court where U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk was responsible for determining the outcome.

Kacsmaryk stopped Biden’s attempt to repeal the policy and said that his administration failed to adequately include several considerations.

The “Remain in Mexico” policy is separate from Title 42 which is another Trump-era policy which has allowed the government to deny migrants asylum based on concerns about the coronavirus spreading which is set to expire next week.
