Trump Legal Cases Bite The Dust
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee, shared his thoughts with Newsmax on Wednesday regarding the potential future of the Department of Justice’s prosecution of President Trump. Jordan suggested that with Donald Trump’s election as President, the DOJ would likely end its legal pursuit of him.
“My gut tells me,” Jordan said during an interview on The Record with Greta Van Susteren, “the state-level cases will likely fade away as well.” He expressed strong belief that the Democrats had severely miscalculated by pursuing what many see as politically motivated charges against Trump. “This whole political prosecution backfired on the left,” Jordan stated, adding that the aggressive legal tactics used against Trump have only galvanized conservative voters.
Jordan pointed to the moment two years ago when Special Counsel Jack Smith and the FBI raided President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate as a major turning point. “So many Americans, including myself, asked, ‘What is going on here?’” Jordan remarked. “This isn’t the kind of thing that’s supposed to happen in the greatest country in the world.” He noted that the FBI’s overreach shocked the American public, and many began to question the fairness of the system.
The Ohio lawmaker also highlighted how the Democrats’ actions, which conservatives often refer to as the “weaponization of lawfare,” were a major factor in shaping voter sentiment. Jordan firmly believes that the relentless legal battles against Trump contributed significantly to the surge in Republican voter turnout in the last election. For many Americans, the targeting of Trump has only deepened their sense of injustice and fueled a renewed commitment to conservative values.
He definitely should, however, Obama doesn’t have the character to apologize.
