Key State Smashes Early Voting Records
North Carolina is celebrating a historic milestone in early voting, as more than 4.2 million voters have cast their ballots at in-person polling locations, according to the State Board of Elections. This impressive turnout reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of North Carolinians to participate in the democratic process, especially in a pivotal battleground state.
The early voting period, which concluded Saturday afternoon, witnessed a significant surge in participation, particularly in the western regions of the state that were impacted by Hurricane Helene. Despite the storm’s challenges, turnout in these areas exceeded expectations, demonstrating the resilience and determination of voters in the face of adversity.
In comparison, the previous record set in 2020 saw 3.6 million early ballots cast, highlighting the growing engagement in our elections. As of now, combining both early and absentee voting, nearly 4.5 million ballots have been submitted, representing around 57 percent of the state’s registered voters.
Karen Brinson Bell, the executive director of the State Board of Elections, expressed gratitude to the dedicated election workers and volunteers across all 100 counties. “Their hard work and commitment have made this record turnout possible,” she stated, adding special recognition to the communities in Western North Carolina for their inspiring participation despite the recent natural disaster.
As we look toward Election Day, which is the final opportunity for voters to make their voices heard, excitement is building. Former President Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Raleigh on Monday, delivering his final appeal to voters. Current polling suggests Trump is leading in North Carolina with 49.2 percent support compared to Vice President Harris’s 47.7 percent, a slim margin that emphasizes the critical nature of every vote in this election.
With such high engagement and pivotal support for conservative values, North Carolinians have the chance to shape the future direction of our state and country. Let’s rally together to ensure that our voices are heard loud and clear on Election Day!
