VIDEO: Pence’s 2024 Dream Crushed

During his appearance at the annual National Rifle Association (NRA) convention on Friday afternoon, Former Vice President Mike Pence was met with an unwelcoming reception.

According to Fox, NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre introduced Mike Pence at the annual NRA convention on Friday afternoon, but the former vice president was greeted with loud boos from the crowd. Attendees expressed what seemed to be a significant dislike for Pence and tried to drown out those who were applauding him.

“Well hello NRA,” Pence said as the NRA crowd continued to boo him.

Despite the boos, one attendee managed to shout above the noise, expressing their support for Mike Pence by yelling, “We love you, Mike!”

“I love you too,” Pence responded.

Later in the day, former President Donald Trump made a joke at Pence’s expense about the earlier incident. Trump told the crowd that he heard they had “made news” with their unwelcoming reception towards Pence.

“I hope you gave Pence a good warm approval,” Trump said as the crowd began to boo again.

Initially, it seemed that Trump was going to try and stop the crowd from booing Pence. Trump told the crowd, “No, because he is a nice man if you want to really know the truth. He is. He’s a good man.”

However, Trump changed his tone and proceeded to make jokes about the exchange, saying that he had heard it was a “very rough” appearance for Pence.

“It’s a big news story. You’ve made news today. I don’t know what you did, but you made news today with the introduction you gave,” Trump added.

Pence’s popularity among many Republicans has decreased following his role in certifying the 2020 presidential election results after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters. While Trump has maintained that the election results were fraudulent and part of a scheme to steal the election from him in favor of President Biden, Pence carried out his duties in accordance with the Constitution.
