Democrats Now Targeting Trump's Golf Courses, Is This Fair?

Democrats Attack CNN

Can you believe Democrats are attacking CNN for holding a fair debate? Shocking!

Representative Dan Goldman (D-NY) expressed dissatisfaction with the moderation of Thursday’s debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. The debate, heavily critiqued for its chaotic nature and lack of fact-checking, saw Trump making numerous false statements, though both candidates were accused of inaccuracies. Liberals criticized Tapper and Bash for not intervening to correct falsehoods, particularly Trump’s, while Trump and Republicans lauded the moderators. Goldman was so angry with CNN holding a fair debate he even went as far as claiming that CNN let Trump intimidate them.

Appearing on CNN’s AC360 on Friday, Goldman discussed the debate with Anderson Cooper, who queried about the possibility of another debate between the two candidates.

Goldman responded emphatically, “Absolutely. Absolutely. I think Joe Biden had an off night. It was a poor performance, there’s no question. But we need to hold another debate. Let’s see the results on another night. Let’s see whether or not Trump continues to deny his role in the Jan 6th riot, persistently mischaracterizes his presidency, and gets away with it. We need moderators who will challenge Trump’s lies instead of allowing him free rein to deceive the American public.”

Cooper interjected cautiously, “I’m not sure about the intimidation part, but I wasn’t part of those discussions. In a debate, it’s crucial for opponents to directly counter and rebut each other. Clearly, that didn’t happen last night. We’ll see if that changes in the next debate. Congressman Goldman, thank you for your insights.”

Goldman’s critique underscores a desire for more rigorous moderation in future debates to ensure factual accuracy and accountability from both candidates, reflecting ongoing concerns over the integrity of political discourse in the media.
