Dems Panic Over Trump’s New Promise To Protect Americans
On Tuesday, Former President Trump made an announcement stating that if he secures re-election in 2024, he intends to pursue the termination of birthright citizenship for individuals residing in the country without legal documentation.
In a firm declaration, Former President Trump expressed his intention to sign an executive order, immediately upon assuming office, aimed at revoking birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants, regardless of their place of birth. Trump emphasized that this executive order would instruct federal agents to adopt what he considers the accurate interpretation of the law, one that does not grant citizenship to such individuals.
In transcript provided by Fox, Trump said, “Joe Biden has launched an illegal foreign invasion of our country, allowing a record number of illegal aliens to storm across our borders. Even though these millions of illegal border crossers have entered the country unlawfully, all of their future children will become automatic U.S. citizens. Can you imagine? This policy is a reward for breaking the laws of the United States.”
According to Former President Trump, he perceives the existing policy as a significant incentive for illegal immigration. He believes that the current approach encourages individuals to enter the country unlawfully due to the perceived benefits associated with birthright citizenship.
Under President Biden’s administration, there has been a notable increase in illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection initially recorded approximately 100,000 border encounters per month when Biden assumed office, but that figure has since risen significantly to well over 200,000 encounters per month.
In the latter part of the previous year and the initial months of 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) documented a consistent pattern of over 230,000 monthly encounters at the U.S.-Mexico border. This indicates a continued high level of activity and challenges related to unauthorized border crossings during that period.
Former President Trump further mentioned that his proposed executive order would also address the issue of “birth tourism.” This term refers to the practice wherein pregnant individuals from other countries travel to the United States during the final stages of pregnancy, with the aim of giving birth on U.S. soil, which automatically grants their children American citizenship. Trump intends to address this specific aspect as part of his executive order.
