Does Biden Need To Be Impeached For Corruption?

Trump Takes Over CNN

The media coverage of the former president has once again become a topic of controversy due to CNN’s choice to hold a town hall featuring him.

It appears that the liberal mainstream media is extremely mad about CNN giving Donald Trump air time.

According to The Hill, despite their previous hostile relationship with Trump while he was in office, CNN has scheduled a New Hampshire town hall for next Wednesday during prime time. The event will be moderated by Kaitlan Collins, a CNN anchor.

CNN faced immediate criticism as soon as news of the town hall event was announced.

On Monday, MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan raged about the new move on Twitter, stating that by giving a live primetime platform to a former president who incited violence against their network and was also indicted for inciting insurrection, CNN had made a questionable decision.

Hasan further remarked that he had been asked on numerous occasions if the media had learned from the events of 2016 and 2020, and CNN’s decision to host the town hall with the former president was evidence to him that some within the media had not learned their lessons.

The decision by CNN to hold the town hall event with the former president was met with similar disapproval from liberal activists.

Shaunna Thomas, the co-founder and executive director of UltraViolet, a pro-gender equality organization, criticized the decision to host the former president, referring to him as a “flagrant misogynist” and “insurrectionist”. She further stated that by giving him a platform to spread falsehoods and hatred, CNN was providing him with free airtime and an unrestricted platform.

Shaunna Thomas is now urging CNN to cancel the event due to their strong objections to providing a platform for the former president.

Angelo Carusone, the president of Media Matters for America, a liberal nonprofit, criticized the planned event, calling it “at least a little odious” and a “transparent attempt to boost their ratings.”

During Trump’s presidency, CNN had a notably adversarial stance towards him, which appeared to increase their ratings, agitate conservatives, and arguably harm CNN’s overall reputation.

CNN has provided only generic and general information about the town hall event, stating that it is part of a “longstanding tradition of hosting leading presidential candidates” and an essential aspect of the network’s comprehensive campaign coverage.
