This has caused quite a stir.

Top health officials in Quebec, Canada, have just announced that people will have to be vaccinated and their proof of vaccinations if they want to purchase cannabis or alcohol from government-owned stores.

According to the Washington Examiner, Quebec residents will have to show their vaccination card to go into Société des alcools du Québec and the Société québécoise du cannabis beginning on January 18th.

When giving a statement on the decision minister of health and social services, Christian Dubé ,stated, “We are aware that all the sacrifices asked of Quebeckers are not easy, but they are necessary, and I thank the population for their collaboration.”

Dubé then said residents must do everything in their power to limit cases of covid and putting their health systems in risk due to outbreaks.

He then said, “I am counting on all of you to be extremely vigilant over the next few weeks, and to protect yourself from the booster dose as soon as it becomes available.”

To further limit the spread of the Omicron variant health officials in Quebec also rolled out new new mandates to combat the spread.

Many local residents are upset that they are being blocking from buying alcohol and cannabis products unless the get vaccinated and several people have voiced their unhappiness online and on social media.
