Disgraced Republican Concerned About Prison

Former Republican Congressman George Santos is sounding the alarm over what he calls a life-threatening prison sentence — and he’s making it clear he fears for his safety behind bars.

In a powerful new interview with The Tucker Carlson Show, Santos said his upcoming incarceration could become a death sentence.

“I don’t know that I’ll survive it,” Santos told Carlson. “They’re putting me in a violent prison. I’m not a streetwise guy. I don’t know how to fight.”

The former New York lawmaker, who made history in 2022 as the first openly gay Republican elected to Congress as a non-incumbent, was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison after pleading guilty to 23 counts, including wire fraud, identity theft, and money laundering.

He is expected to report to prison on July 25.

“This Could Be My Last Interview”

Santos told Carlson that he’s not exaggerating the threat.

“This could very much be my last interview, and I’m not trying to be overdramatic here,” he said. “What’s happening to me is practically a death sentence.”

“I’m Not Suicidal,” Santos Declares in Viral Post

On social media platform X, Santos delivered a blunt message to his supporters:

“I’m going to prison, and let me make this absolutely clear: I’m not suicidal, I’m not struggling with depression, and I have no plans to hurt myself.”

Santos went even further, warning that if anything happens to him behind bars — including false claims of suicide or misconduct — it should be viewed as a lie.

“The statistics around what happens to gay men in BOP custody are horrifying… If something does happen, there’s no confusion. I did NOT kill myself.”

Political Persecution or Justice?

Santos was expelled from Congress in December 2023 after a scathing ethics report accused him of misusing campaign funds and lying about his background. He called the report a “political hit piece” and said he was denied basic due process.

“They made up their minds before I had a chance to defend myself,” Santos said.

What began as questions about his résumé snowballed into serious allegations of fraud — a situation many conservatives now see as a politically motivated takedown.

Double Standards? Conservatives Ask Why Others Walk Free

Santos’ case has sparked outrage among conservative voters who point to Democrats accused of misconduct who face little to no accountability. Many are asking why Santos was fast-tracked for prosecution while figures like Hunter Biden and others seem to escape consequences.

This situation continues to fuel the debate over two-tiered justice, media bias, and whether conservatives are being unfairly targeted in a system rigged against them.
