Tensions Erupt In Congress Over Trump’s Beautiful Bill
Internal Party Clash Derails Trump’s Vision to Restore U.S. Prosperity
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) issued a scathing critique of several fellow Republicans late Friday after they joined Democrats to block President Donald Trump’s highly anticipated “Big Beautiful Budget”—a plan crafted to restore economic sanity, secure the border, and put American families first.
The House Budget Committee vote—defeated 16-21—sent shockwaves through conservative ranks. Despite widespread grassroots support for Trump’s MAGA agenda, four Republicans—Reps. Chip Roy (TX), Ralph Norman (SC), Josh Brecheen (OK), and Andrew Clyde (GA)—sided against the proposal.
“These so-called conservatives are throwing red-state voters under the bus,” Greene posted on X. “They’re more focused on Medicaid cuts than protecting Social Security, stopping illegal immigration, or fighting inflation.”
Trump’s Budget Plan: A Direct Hit on Biden’s Failures
The defeated bill contained key MAGA priorities: no taxes on tips or overtime, border security measures to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, protection for Social Security, lower inflation, and an end to reckless foreign aid spending.
Greene warned that the GOP holdouts are “completely out of step” with the American people—and are jeopardizing Trump’s efforts to rebuild the nation from Biden-era chaos.
“This isn’t about SALT deductions or beltway politics,” Greene wrote. “It’s about stopping another Laken Riley tragedy, ending inflation that’s crushing working families, and bringing real leadership back to Washington.”
SALT Caucus vs. Trump’s America First Vision
Greene also took aim at Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) and the so-called SALT caucus—Republicans from high-tax states like New York, California, and New Jersey who threatened to derail the bill unless it lifted the $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions.
“Lawler usually isn’t the guy in the conference with the best ideas,” Greene said bluntly, criticizing his loyalty to special interests over the MAGA movement.
Lawler fired back in typical RINO fashion, taking a jab at Greene and claiming that Republicans in swing districts are the reason the GOP holds a slim majority.
“Shockingly, the ‘Jewish space laser’ lady still doesn’t know what she’s talking about,” Lawler wrote on X. “Without seats like mine, there is no Republican majority.”
Conservatives Demand Unity Behind Trump
As Biden’s failed policies continue to hurt retirees, working families, and small business owners, many conservatives are demanding Republican unity behind President Trump’s America First agenda.
This latest budget standoff highlights deep divisions in the GOP—but also reinforces what grassroots voters want: leadership that puts American citizens first, secures our borders, ends endless wars, and protects the values that made this country great.
Bottom Line: If Republicans can’t get on board with Trump’s common-sense agenda now, they risk losing the trust—and votes—of millions of patriotic Americans in 2024.
