Is Trump The Most Popular President?

Democrats Order Trump To Do What?

In another bold move to put American citizens first, President Trump has ended a little-known government grant program that quietly sent millions of taxpayer dollars to immigration nonprofits — and now, over 50 Democrats in Congress are demanding it be brought back.

The Citizenship and Assimilation Grant Program, launched during the Obama years, funneled federal money to organizations helping green card holders apply for U.S. citizenship. The services included civics classes and help filling out naturalization paperwork — all on the taxpayer’s dime.

But the Trump administration said enough is enough.

In February 2025, funding for the program was frozen. By March 27, it was officially terminated. Now, 54 Democrats — led by far-left California Rep. Jimmy Gomez — are pressuring U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to reverse course. They sent a six-page letter to Acting USCIS Director Kika Scott, accusing the agency of acting “without due process” and “without explanation.”

“Why are we stopping our own citizens from getting the services they need while subsidizing programs for foreigners?” asked one concerned taxpayer online. “This is exactly what President Trump promised to fix.”

Democrats argue the program saved USCIS money by reducing paperwork errors. But critics say it propped up liberal activist groups, enabled legal shortcuts, and wasted millions during a time when America is already dealing with a historic immigration crisis.

The Trump administration stands firm. Officials have hinted that the decision is part of a broader effort to audit wasteful spending and realign DHS priorities with national security — especially as illegal crossings skyrocket and public trust in immigration enforcement plummets.

So far, USCIS has not responded to the Democrats’ demands.
