Is Trump More Intelligent Than Kamala?

Biden Insider Makes Shocking Confession

Anita Dunn, a former senior adviser to President Joe Biden, has suggested that the June 27 debate was not the main factor leading to his campaign’s decline. Dunn believes that while Biden’s debate performance was subpar, it was not the primary cause of his campaign’s downfall. Instead, she attributes the collapse to the intense media scrutiny and the pressure from within the Democratic Party for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

Biden’s debate with former President Donald Trump marked a turning point. Just weeks after the debate, on July 21, Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Dunn argues that the continuous barrage of negative media coverage and criticism from key Democratic figures created an environment that Biden could not withstand.

Dunn told Politico that while the debate performance was disappointing, it was not catastrophic from a voter perspective. She noted that despite a rocky start, Biden managed to connect with voters more effectively in the latter part of the debate. Dunn maintained that the negative narrative from his own party and the press was what truly undermined his campaign.

The debate did, however, highlight ongoing concerns about Biden’s age and cognitive abilities, which had already been a point of contention. Despite this, Dunn was confident that Biden could have weathered the storm, citing his ability to rebound from earlier setbacks in the 2020 primary season.

The Democratic Party’s reaction, including skepticism from influential figures like Representatives Hakeem Jeffries and Nancy Pelosi, compounded the difficulties facing Biden’s campaign. Dunn, who has since moved on to work with the Future Forward PAC supporting Harris, acknowledges that the decision to hold the debate earlier than usual was part of a strategic plan. The intent was to bring Trump’s policies and rhetoric into sharper focus, given the early formation of the race with Biden as the Democratic nominee and Trump as the Republican nominee.

Despite the initial controversy surrounding Biden’s performance, the transition of leadership to Harris has revitalized the Democratic Party. Enthusiasm has surged, fundraising efforts have intensified, and Harris has shown strong polling results against Trump. Although Biden’s exit might have seemed abrupt, it appears to have strengthened the party’s position for the upcoming November election.
