Liberals Erupt After Republican Does This
This week, several notable liberals raged on social media over the news that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, was scheduled to make an appearance on the upcoming episode of CBS’s “60 Minutes” program.
According to Fox, MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan, NBC News’ Ben Collins, former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger, liberal commentator Elie Mystal, gun control activist David Hogg, and others criticized CBS on Twitter for featuring Marjorie Taylor Greene, a prominent supporter of MAGA within Congress, on their program.
On Friday, the official Twitter account for the well-established CBS program sparked controversy by sharing a preview of the pre-recorded interview, which depicted Lesley Stahl, the host of 60 Minutes, engaging in conversation with Greene at different locations during the interview, resulting in an uproar.
One of the images that garnered attention depicted Stahl and Greene conversing in the Capitol rotunda, reminiscent of the scenes from the January 6th Capitol insurrection.

The Twitter account also shared a description of the upcoming episode, stating that Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican Representative known as MTG, will be joining Lesley Stahl for an interview on 60 Minutes. The description notes that Greene is unafraid to express her opinions, regardless of how intense they may be.
Liberals on the platform did not appreciate the attempts made by the CBS program to interview the prominent right-wing politician.
Elie Mystal, a correspondent for The Nation and a frequent guest on MSNBC, strongly criticized CBS for their seemingly respectful treatment of the GOP congresswoman. He expressed his dismay that the network used Greene’s nickname, implying a level of familiarity and friendliness between the two parties.
Mystal wrote, “The way you guys say her ‘nickname’ is MTG… as if it’s a cute moniker bestowed by her besties… when her initials are just MTG and her ‘nicknames’ are ‘Marjorie Three Names’ and ‘Unfrozen Caveman Congresswoman’ just shows that you’re here to launder her rep and complicit.”
