Former Florida Congressman Bill Posey passed away Sunday at the age of 78, surrounded by his wife and two daughters after a lifetime devoted to public service, conservative principles, and the people of Florida.

Florida Congressman Mike Haridopolos announced Posey’s passing and praised his extraordinary record of service.
Haridopolos said Posey was widely respected as a principled conservative who fought for lower government spending, greater transparency, and strong support for Florida’s Space Coast and America’s aerospace industry.
Mike Johnson also paid tribute, describing Posey as a faithful friend and true statesman whose love for the country was evident in everything he did.
Johnson said he and his wife, Kelly, were praying for Posey’s family, especially his wife Katie, his high school sweetheart.

Posey died at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. His family has not publicly disclosed the cause of death.
