Is It Unlawful and Illegal To Criticize Trump?

O’Leary Calls Out Trump

Washington, D.C. – Famed investor and “Shark Tank” personality Kevin O’Leary is throwing his support behind President Trump’s aggressive trade policy, urging the administration to fine-tune its messaging — not its mission. In a recent interview with Fox Business Network, O’Leary made it clear: Trump’s tariffs are working, and China knows it.

“It’s not the policy that’s the problem — it’s the communication,” O’Leary said. “Different officials are sending mixed signals. But that’s something that can easily be fixed.”

President Trump recently announced a 10% baseline tariff along with targeted increases against nations exploiting U.S. trade laws — including a bold 145% tariff on Chinese goods. While some inside Washington are unsure whether this signals a long-term shift or a short-term negotiation tactic, Trump’s allies say the goal is clear: put America first and stop letting China and other global competitors walk all over the U.S. economy.

Trump’s Tariffs: A Smart Move for American Workers

According to O’Leary, critics of the tariffs are missing the big picture. Nearly 40% of China’s exports go directly to U.S. consumers, giving America tremendous leverage. “If those factories can’t sell to us, Chinese workers lose their jobs,” O’Leary explained. “That’s a crisis for President Xi. He knows it — and President Trump knows it too.”

With unemployment low and the economy booming under the Trump administration, O’Leary believes now is the time to strike strong trade deals. “This is about smart negotiation,” he said. “And President Trump is the first leader in decades to actually stand up to China. That’s real strength.”

A Winning Strategy — With One Fix

O’Leary did urge the administration to align its public messaging, pointing out that conflicting statements from various Cabinet officials are creating confusion in the media. “This is self-inflicted,” he said. “The President has the right strategy. Now the team just needs to deliver a unified message.”

Despite media skepticism, O’Leary believes the fears of a trade war are overblown. “This isn’t chaos — this is strategy,” he said. “Trump is playing hardball because he’s fighting for American jobs, American companies, and American workers. And it’s working.”
