Is Trump Protecting Women's Sports Unlike Democrats?

Lindsey Graham Faces New Challenger

Pediatrician-turned-politician pushes liberal agenda in conservative stronghold

CHARLESTON, SC — A far-left Democrat with deep ties to the medical establishment is launching a longshot bid to unseat longtime Trump ally Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) in the upcoming 2026 election.

Annie Andrews, a pediatrician and failed 2022 congressional candidate, is now taking aim at one of South Carolina’s most prominent conservative voices. Her new campaign ad, clocking in at just over three minutes, criticizes Senator Graham’s support for President Donald Trump and targets the Trump administration’s handling of health care.

Andrews Slams Trump, Attacks Graham’s Conservative Record

In her launch video, Andrews uses old footage of Graham criticizing Trump—clips from before the senator became one of the former president’s most loyal supporters. She accuses Graham of shifting positions and prioritizing donors over families.

“Lindsey Graham will take food off of kids’ plates just to hand tax breaks to billionaires,” Andrews claimed—an attack many see as a tired liberal talking point aimed at undermining successful conservative tax policy.

Graham Fires Back: ‘She’s Pushing a Radical Agenda’

Senator Graham’s campaign wasted no time responding.

“The more successful you are at defending President Trump’s America First agenda, the more liberal Democrats try to take you out,” said campaign manager Mark Knoop. “While Dr. Andrews pushes a radical, out-of-touch agenda, Senator Graham has consistently fought for South Carolina’s conservative values—lower taxes, a secure border, the right to life, the Second Amendment, and constitutional judges.”

A History of Political Defeat and Washington Ties

Andrews is no stranger to defeat in the Palmetto State. She ran against Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) in 2022 and lost by a wide 14-point margin. Since then, she’s kept one foot in Washington, holding part-time positions at Children’s National Hospital and George Washington University—something likely to raise questions about her true ties to South Carolina voters.

Her South Carolina medical license is also set to expire next month, though her campaign says she intends to renew it.

Democrats Already Failed Once—Can They Do Better in 2026?

Democrats heavily banked on flipping Graham’s seat in 2020, spending more than $100 million behind Jaime Harrison. Despite that cash tsunami, Graham won comfortably by double digits.

Now, Andrews says this election cycle will be different, blaming COVID-19 restrictions for the Democrats’ past failures. But in today’s political climate—where Americans are fed up with high grocery prices, woke indoctrination, and open border chaos—many believe South Carolina will stand firmly behind conservative leadership.

Andrews’ Agenda: Bigger Government, More Spending

If elected, Andrews has promised to expand government entitlements like the child tax credit and push for broader health care programs, despite the rising national debt and growing taxpayer burden.

While she insists her policies will help “all Americans,” her platform reads more like a blueprint for Biden-style big government.

Bottom Line

Annie Andrews may be the latest liberal hoping to turn South Carolina blue—but with a solid conservative base, Trump’s endorsement, and a proven record, Senator Lindsey Graham is far from finished.
