Trump Calls For A Stop To What?
Supreme Court Urged to Act as Judicial Overreach Threatens American Democracy
President Donald Trump is calling for immediate action to stop unelected federal judges from issuing sweeping nationwide injunctions—a practice he warns could undermine the very foundation of the United States.
Speaking out on Truth Social Thursday, the 45th President said the “radical left” is abusing the courts to block conservative policies that protect American values, national security, and the rule of law.
“Unlawful nationwide injunctions by activist judges could lead to the destruction of our country,” Trump wrote.
Judicial Activism vs. Constitutional Authority
President Trump emphasized that federal judges are not elected and therefore should not wield the powers of the presidency.
“These decisions are being made by people who were never chosen by the American people,” he said. “They don’t care about the damage they cause, and their rulings are flat-out dangerous.”
Trump urged the U.S. Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts to intervene and restore constitutional balance before it’s too late.
Recent Court Rulings Undermining Trump Policies
President Trump has faced a wave of injunctions from liberal-leaning judges determined to block his America First agenda. Recent rulings include:
- A judge in Washington, D.C. blocked the deportation of Venezuelan nationals—including alleged gang members—despite national security concerns.
- A separate ruling halted Trump’s executive order banning transgender individuals from military service, overruling military readiness decisions.
- Another federal judge ordered the reinstatement of federal employees who were still in probationary periods when terminated.
- An ongoing injunction blocked efforts to pause certain federal grant payments, limiting the administration’s control over spending.
President Trump called one of the judges, Chief Judge James Boasberg, a “grandstander” for halting the deportation order.
Senator Josh Hawley to Introduce Legislation
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has pledged to introduce new legislation targeting what he calls a “dramatic abuse of judicial authority.”
“It’s time to take a serious look at how activist judges are using nationwide injunctions to stall conservative reforms and overstep their constitutional role,” Hawley said Thursday.
Time to Restore the Rule of Law
President Trump warned that unless the Supreme Court steps in, the continued abuse of judicial power could plunge the country into legal and political chaos.
“If Justice Roberts and the Supreme Court don’t fix this toxic and unprecedented situation, our country is in serious trouble,” Trump posted.
For millions of Americans who believe in limited government, personal responsibility, and constitutional law, the time to act is now.
