Filmmaker and certified Trump-hater Michael Moore recently voiced deep concerns about President Joe Biden’s performance during a CNN debate with Donald Trump, likening Biden’s reelection campaign to “elder abuse.” On his Rumble podcast, Moore expressed astonishment at Biden’s debate display and dismissed explanations like jet lag and a cold as insufficient excuses. He questioned whether Biden should continue in office until November amidst calls for him to step down from the Democratic ticket.

Moore highlighted several of Biden’s debate errors and criticized his campaign’s handling of the event, particularly the extensive debate preparation that seemingly failed to yield results.

“If I have to be the lone defender of Joe Biden here—yes, I said that—if I have to protect him from what I see as the cruelest form of elder abuse, then I will,” Moore asserted passionately. He described Biden’s distress during the debate, suggesting that allowing an 81-year-old to face off against a formidable opponent late at night was deeply concerning.

Moore went on to agree with Trump’s criticism of Biden’s campaign staff and even called for an independent neurologist to assess the president’s condition.

While Moore has been critical of Biden in the past, particularly regarding his stance on international issues like the Israel-Hamas conflict, his recent comments represent a sharper rebuke. Moore previously organized protests against Biden’s policies in Michigan, reflecting his long-standing activism within the Democratic Party.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin, Moore reiterated his concerns about what he perceives as the Democratic Party’s exploitation of Biden’s vulnerability. He described Biden’s debate performance as heartbreaking, questioning why Biden was allowed to participate in such a condition and who was genuinely looking out for him.

Overall, Moore’s comments underscore a growing sentiment within certain circles of the Democratic Party that Biden’s current role may be unsustainable, raising significant questions about his ability to continue leading effectively through a demanding reelection campaign.
