Trump’s Promise To Waiters
During a recent trip to Las Vegas, President Donald Trump reaffirmed his commitment to delivering tax relief for American workers, especially those in the hospitality industry. Speaking at the Circa Resort and Casino, he focused on his promise to eliminate taxes on tips—an issue that hits hard for millions of workers who rely on gratuities as a significant part of their income.
Trump addressed a crowd of supporters, vowing that in the coming months, he would sign a new tax cut into law aimed at helping the hardworking men and women who drive the economy, particularly in places like Nevada where tourism and hospitality are key to the state’s prosperity. “When I sign this new tax cut, it’s going to make a real difference for you. We’re going to make sure your hard-earned tips aren’t taxed, and it’s going to be something special,” Trump said.
The former president also took the opportunity to remind his audience of the priorities of his administration, contrasting them with the policies of the Biden administration. “After four years of a government that always put you last, we now have a president who will put workers, families, and America first,” Trump declared. “That’s the difference we’re going to make when we return to power.”
Trump’s commitment to supporting service workers is more than just a campaign talking point; it’s part of a broader agenda to reduce tax burdens across the board. While he has pledged to extend the tax cuts from his 2017 tax reform package and abolish taxes on tips, overtime, and even Social Security benefits, such proposals will likely face challenges in Congress—even with a Republican majority. However, Trump remains determined to push these policies, knowing that his focus on workers and families resonates strongly with the American people.
In the face of potential obstacles, Trump’s tax agenda seeks to bolster the nation’s economic recovery and ensure that the American worker is never forgotten. The bold proposals might come with a hefty price tag, but Trump is betting that putting America first will lead to a brighter future for all.
This is one thing I disagree with Trump on. We need to keep on with pennies. Even though a penny doesn’t buy much of anything anymore, it’ll only raise prices by a few cents on goods and services. Inflation got bad enough under Biden without things getting more expensive now.
