Trump Running Laps Around Kamala
The Trump campaign is firmly pushing back against claims that former President Donald Trump has withdrawn from scheduled media appearances due to being “exhausted.” According to a recent report from Politico, an adviser mentioned that Trump might be feeling tired and declining some interviews, particularly for a platform with a primarily young and Black audience. However, the campaign swiftly denied these assertions.
Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for Trump, responded emphatically, stating that the notion of Trump being exhausted is “unequivocally false.” She emphasized, “President Trump is running laps around Vice President Kamala Harris on the campaign trail,” highlighting his vigorous schedule of media engagements. Leavitt noted that Trump has conducted interviews every day of the week, asserting that he possesses unmatched energy and work ethic in politics.
Moreover, Leavitt reminded supporters of Trump’s boldness in engaging with the media, citing his willingness to hold a CNN town hall event even amidst the Republican primary—a testament to his commitment to transparency and open dialogue with the public.
Recently, Trump attended the Al Smith charity dinner in New York and has taped town halls for Fox News and Univision, showcasing his proactive approach to connecting with voters. While it’s true that he canceled a few interviews with CBS’ “60 Minutes” and CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” his team clarified that these were due to scheduling conflicts rather than fatigue.
Additionally, Trump’s campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, dismissed the narrative of exhaustion as “fake news,” indicating that while discussions occurred, no formal agreements were made. This follows CBS’s interview with Harris, which faced backlash for editing that critics argued favored the Democrat nominee. Trump himself has suggested that CBS should be held accountable for these edits, calling for the unedited transcript of Harris’ interview to be made public.
As the campaign heats up, it’s clear that Trump remains energized and engaged, fully committed to articulating his vision for America and challenging his opponents head-on.
