John Bolton To Be Prosecuted?
Former Trump senior adviser David Urban recently voiced his concern about the safety of former National Security Adviser John Bolton, suggesting that Bolton should continue to receive Secret Service protection, even after President Trump decided to revoke it. Urban emphasized that if Bolton is still facing threats to his life due to his work on behalf of the country, the U.S. government has a responsibility to provide him with security.
During a CNN discussion, Urban highlighted the tradition in the U.S. of offering protection to individuals who are at risk due to their service to the nation. He explained that no matter their role—whether former president, public official, or former national security adviser—if a person is targeted by a foreign government or faces credible threats, it is the country’s duty to defend them. Urban stated that, given Bolton’s past work, the government should continue to protect him as long as necessary to ensure his safety.
Bolton himself addressed the situation, confirming that Trump had ended his Secret Service detail. While Bolton expressed disappointment, he acknowledged that the decision was not unexpected, considering the strained relationship between him and the president since Bolton’s departure from the administration. Bolton has been a strong critic of Iran, a country that has reportedly issued threats against him following his departure.
President Trump, on the other hand, justified his decision by arguing that Bolton had received adequate protection during his time in office and that it was unreasonable to continue such security indefinitely. Trump suggested that once someone has left office, it is not appropriate to provide them with lifelong protection.
Urban’s comments highlight a broader principle: individuals who have put their lives at risk in service to the nation, regardless of political disagreements, should be safeguarded by the government. This reflects the core American value of supporting those who have served the country, ensuring their protection in the face of real threats.
I try to be fair and impartial and in this case, I totally believe that the DOJ should investigate Pelosi. First, she ripped up President Trump’s state of the Union address, which is an official document. Second, she created a select committee and refused to allow proper Republican representation. Third, someone on this committee deleted the witness testimonies, documents and evidence. Was Pelosi behind it? I would like to know. Lastly, President Trump requested the national guard and Pelosi refused them.
I am sure that there are other opinions as to why I am wrong and I look forward to hearing those opinions.
