Tom Homan’s New Border Plan

In a recent interview, Tom Homan, President-elect Trump’s designated “border czar,” emphasized that the incoming administration’s aggressive stance on illegal immigration would include drastic measures such as the establishment of halfway homes for children of illegal immigrants. Homan explained that while U.S. citizen children of illegal immigrants will not be detained, they may be placed in such facilities as part of the broader plan to address illegal immigration and mass deportations.

Homan stated, “We’re not going to detain your U.S. citizen children, but they might be placed in a halfway house,” while adding that families could either stay together at home until the necessary travel arrangements are made, or be separated if deportation is imminent.

One of the cornerstones of Trump’s immigration policy, as articulated by Homan, will be the return of family detention centers, a measure that had been controversially implemented in the past but is expected to play a major role in the upcoming administration’s efforts. This would contribute to the most aggressive deportation campaign in American history, with the goal of removing every illegal immigrant from the country.

Trump has vowed to enforce strict immigration laws, including targeting individuals who are in the U.S. illegally, regardless of their family situation. He has also threatened to challenge the concept of birthright citizenship, which grants U.S. citizenship to children born on American soil. Homan made it clear that having a child who is a U.S. citizen would not offer protection from deportation. “Having a U.S. citizen child does not make you immune to our laws,” Homan remarked, stressing that the administration’s priority is upholding the rule of law and ensuring that America is not viewed as a sanctuary for illegal immigration.

For the Trump administration, the message is clear: the sovereignty and security of the United States must come first, and the laws of the land must be respected. The goal is not only to enforce immigration laws but to deter illegal immigration by sending a firm message to the world that breaking U.S. laws will have consequences.
