Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has strongly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, asserting that she is “overwhelmingly” unqualified to be Commander-in-Chief. Stefanik’s remarks come in the wake of the tragic deaths of six hostages who were held by Hamas while both Harris and President Joe Biden were in office.

Among the victims was Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old Israeli-American who was captured by Hamas on October 7. Stefanik has accused the Biden-Harris administration of abandoning Israel by failing to provide essential military aid during a critical period. She described the administration’s inaction as a grave betrayal and questioned Harris’s ability to safeguard national security.

“It’s an utter disgrace,” Stefanik told Fox News’s Sean Duffy on Sunday Morning Futures, referring to the loss of Goldberg-Polin. “The administration’s failure to act and provide the necessary support to Israel during such a crucial time reflects poorly on Harris’s qualifications to lead as Commander-in-Chief. This is a dark moment in our national security history.”

In her critique, Stefanik also highlighted the recent anniversary of the deaths of 13 U.S. service members who perished during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. Former President Donald Trump honored these fallen heroes with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, which sparked controversy. The Harris campaign accused Trump of using the visit for political gain, a claim that was met with strong rebuttals from Gold Star families who defended Trump’s actions.

The Trump campaign released a series of videos featuring Gold Star families expressing their support for Trump’s visit and condemning Harris’s remarks as an attempt to politicize a solemn occasion. “We invited President Trump to honor the memory of our loved ones,” the families stated. “His presence was a gesture of respect, not a political stunt.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) also weighed in on the situation, mourning the hostages’ deaths and advocating for a firm stance against Iran. Graham described Iran as “the great Satan” and suggested that targeting the regime could be the key to ensuring the safe release of remaining hostages.
