Kamala Luring Trump Into Ugly Conflict?
Senator Lindsey Graham has urged former President Donald Trump to avoid engaging in “insult debates” and stay focused on key issues, rather than being drawn into personal attacks by Democrat nominee Kamala Harris. On ABC News’ “This Week,” Graham emphasized the importance of focusing on substantive matters that resonate with voters. He asserted that polls consistently show Americans trust Trump on critical issues such as the economy, inflation, border security, and effective government management. Graham believes that maintaining a laser focus on these topics will be crucial for Trump’s success in the upcoming election.
As Trump prepares for the September 10 debate, he has criticized Harris, labeling her as “dumb” and incapable of coherent speech. However, Graham acknowledged Harris’ experience, noting her roles as senator, attorney general, and vice president. Instead of engaging in personal attacks, Graham advised Trump to highlight Harris’ problematic record on foreign policy.
Graham criticized Harris’ approach to Israel, pointing out that she remained passive when accusations of genocide were made against the Israeli government and chose to boycott Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Congressional address. This, Graham argues, signaled a lack of support for Israel and emboldened adversaries like Hamas and Iran. Furthermore, Graham criticized Harris for her role in the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, suggesting it was one of the worst decisions in recent American history.
Additionally, Graham mentioned Harris’ failure to prevent Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and her record on border security, which he described as troubling. He highlighted the increased presence of terrorists in the U.S. and the surge in fentanyl-related deaths among young Americans as significant issues to address.
Regarding recent discussions on funding for IVF treatments, Graham pointed out that although Trump has voiced support for such funding, Congress has previously voted against it, with only a few Republicans in favor. Graham proposed considering means-tested tax credits for IVF treatments instead.
Lastly, Graham addressed the controversy over Trump’s actions at Arlington National Cemetery, attributing the unfortunate situation to what he views as Biden administration’s incompetence. He criticized Harris for her role in the withdrawal from Afghanistan, which he believes contributed to the tragic loss of American lives and could potentially lead to further security threats.
Nothing to be gained by pissing on a skunk.
