Biden And Trump Asked For Pardon By Who?

Joe Exotic, the infamous star of Tiger King, is openly criticizing both President Trump and President Biden for not granting him a pardon, pointing out what he sees as an unfair disparity in the way some high-profile individuals receive clemency. In a recent post on Instagram, Exotic—whose real name is Joseph Maldonado—expressed his frustration, claiming that he would have had a better shot at getting out of prison if he were connected to the Bidens or involved in the January 6th Capitol riot.

“Once again, you forgot about me,” Exotic wrote, addressing both Trump and Biden. He sarcastically remarked, “If I were a crack dealer, or if I stormed the Capitol, or if I were related to the Bidens, maybe I’d have a better shot at getting some justice.”

Exotic’s comments came after both Biden and Trump made headlines with controversial pardons. In his final hours in office, President Biden issued pardons for several individuals, including some of his family members. Just hours later, Trump made waves by pardoning nearly 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol riot. Exotic pointed out that even those who participated in the insurrection were given pardons, while his own case remained ignored.

Exotic, who has been serving a 22-year federal sentence since 2020 for his role in a murder-for-hire plot targeting animal rights activist Carole Baskin, has long been vocal about his desire for a pardon. In 2020, Trump indicated he might “take a look” at the case, though no action was ever taken. Exotic also expressed his frustration that, despite his claims of innocence and evidence of perjury in his trial, he hasn’t even been given the opportunity for a new trial.

At 61, Exotic remains behind bars, still hoping for the same kind of leniency that others in the political spotlight seem to receive all too easily. His case serves as a reminder that for some, justice and political connections can seem to go hand-in-hand.
