Trump Doubles Down On Kamala
Former President Donald Trump launched a strong critique of Vice President Kamala Harris during a speech aimed at Christian conservatives on Friday evening.
In his address, Trump emphasized the vital role of Americans of faith in the nation’s fabric. “Americans of faith are the heart and soul of our country,” he proclaimed to enthusiastic applause.
Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Harris, particularly targeting her views on religious liberty. “Does everyone here understand that the radical left ideology Kamala Harris supports is deeply antagonistic towards Americans of faith?” he questioned.
He recalled Harris’s controversial stance during her time as a senator, specifically referencing her treatment of judicial nominees. Trump highlighted Harris’s 2019 questioning of Brian Buescher, a judicial nominee, where she asked if he was aware that the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic organization, opposed abortion. Trump criticized this as an unfair attack on the nominee’s Catholic faith.
Trump also turned his attention to Harris’s foreign policy, particularly her absence from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress. Although Harris met with Netanyahu the following day, her comments reportedly displeased Israeli officials. Trump asserted, “She doesn’t support Jewish people; she doesn’t support Israel.” He recounted his own recent meeting with Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago, where they discussed Jewish voting patterns and concluded that tradition largely influences such votes.
Switching topics, Trump criticized Harris’s record on border security, calling her “a bum” for her perceived failures as the so-called “border czar.” He accused the current administration of attempting to erase this role from their records amidst what he described as the worst border crisis in U.S. history.
Trump’s remarks come as major media outlets like CNN, ABC News, and MSNBC retract their earlier designations of Harris’s role in border issues. In response, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Republicans of obstructing immigration reform efforts. “Why are Republicans so reluctant to acknowledge their role in blocking a border deal?” Jean-Pierre questioned, highlighting ongoing tensions between the White House and GOP over immigration policy.
