Pence Shows His True Colors
Supporters of former Vice President Mike Pence have announced the formation of a new super PAC to aid his anticipated bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
According to anonymous sources familiar with the project’s planning and strategy, the Pence-endorsed super PAC, named “Committed to America,” is set to launch publicly on Tuesday.
Newsmax reports that Scott Reed, a veteran GOP consultant and co-chair of the new super PAC, expressed his belief that the country is currently at a critical juncture, and that the Republican Party requires a formidable conservative candidate capable of winning both the nomination and general election. He cited Pence’s experience, character, communication skills, and conservative credentials as reasons why he believes Pence is the ideal candidate.
The unveiling of the “Committed to America” super PAC is just one of the latest indications that Pence is actively preparing for his anticipated campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. This would put him in competition with his former boss, ex-President Donald Trump. Pence has stated that he will reveal his plans well before late June, and his staff have been exploring potential dates for a launch event, possibly as early as May but more likely in June. In the meantime, Pence has been traveling to early-voting states, delivering policy speeches, and granting media interviews, as he ramps up his preparation for the campaign.
Scott Reed, the longtime GOP consultant and former political director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will co-chair “Committed to America” along with former Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling, a close friend of Pence’s and former chair of the House Republican Conference.
Pence’s bid for the GOP nomination will face significant challenges as much of the attention and fundraising has been centered on former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who plans to enter the race soon. Additionally, the competition includes former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. Furthermore, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott has established a presidential exploratory committee and is anticipated to officially announce his campaign next week.
