Shocking 2018 Video Of DeSantis Leaked
Leaked debate preparation videos from 2018 have surfaced, featuring Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sharing his views on how to handle former President Donald Trump.
According to Newsweek, the footage of a 2018 mock gubernatorial debate preparation involving Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz was obtained by ABC News. During the preparation session, Gaetz asked DeSantis if there were any issues on which he disagreed with then-President Donald Trump.
Video footage of mock debate prep for the 2018 Florida gubernatorial race, obtained by ABC News, shows then-Congressman Ron DeSantis and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz discussing former President Donald Trump. DeSantis can be seen and heard taking a deep breath before responding, “Obviously there is because I mean I voted contrary to him…I have to frame it in a way that’s not going to piss off all his voters.”
There is speculation that DeSantis is considering a run for president in 2024, and he is currently the second most popular choice among Republican voters in polls, behind Trump. However, tensions have arisen between supporters of Trump and DeSantis, as the former president has attacked the governor amid rumors that he might challenge Trump in the Republican primaries.
Gaetz posted a message on Twitter in response to the leaked video, stating, “I ran the Desantis Debate Prep in 2018. Though I prefer Trump for President (bigly), the release of these videos by the person operating the camera is disloyal hackery that I do not abide.”
“Staffers who leak on the candidates they’ve done work for deserve the reputations they get,” Gaetz added.
