Trump’s Influence Grows Stronger With Young Voters

Former President Donald Trump continues to engage with the public through unconventional media channels, steering clear of traditional mainstream outlets. His latest foray into alternative media includes appearances on platforms favored by younger audiences and influential figures.

Trump recently appeared on Barron Trump’s favorite podcast, “This Past Weekend” with comedian Theo Von. This follows his previous engagements on X Spaces with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and a Kick stream with internet personality Adin Ross. By choosing these platforms, Trump aims to sidestep the often negative portrayals in mainstream media and connect directly with his supporters, especially younger demographics.

During his conversation with Von, Trump offered a glimpse into his personal life, including insights about his youngest son, Barron. The former president spoke highly of Barron, noting his athletic abilities and academic excellence. “Barron plays golf and soccer, and he’s really good at soccer,” Trump said. “He’s set to start college this fall and is a very bright student.”

Trump also discussed his personal stance on substance use, influenced by his experiences with his late brother, Fred. Trump shared how witnessing his brother’s struggles with alcohol and smoking led him to abstain from these habits himself. “I learned a lot from my brother. He had issues with alcohol and smoking, and I always tell my kids to avoid those things,” Trump explained.

The conversation also touched on Von’s own experiences with substance abuse, highlighting the challenges of overcoming such struggles. Von described the impact of cocaine with a vivid metaphor, which resonated with Trump’s message about the perils of drug use.

Trump’s alternative media strategy seems to be paying off, with his previous appearances, such as his stream with Adin Ross, attracting substantial viewership. His outreach extends to influencer circles as well, including an interview with Logan Paul where Trump discussed contemporary pop culture issues, like the rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

In response, Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has ramped up its own media efforts, with several influencers taking the stage at the Democratic National Convention to counterbalance Trump’s media presence.
