Liz Cheney Inserts Herself Into House Races
Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) is intensifying her campaign against former President Trump by endorsing Democrats in critical House races, signaling her belief that the House could serve as a vital counterbalance if Trump secures a second term. Cheney’s recent endorsements of John Avlon, a former CNN commentator running against GOP Rep. Nick LaLota in New York, and Rep. Susan Wild, a Democrat in a competitive race in Pennsylvania, illustrate her commitment to her cause.
These districts are among the most hotly contested in the nation, and both parties are keenly aware that every vote counts as they vie for control of the House in the upcoming elections. Cheney’s endorsements highlight her conviction that certain candidates prioritize the integrity of democracy over party loyalty. “While we may not agree on everything, I know that [Wild] holds a deep respect for the integrity of our democracy,” Cheney stated, advocating for leaders who prioritize the rule of law.
Cheney’s criticism of House Republicans has been consistent, warning since early 2023 that if they retain control, they could pose a threat to the nation. Her pointed remarks about Speaker Mike Johnson reveal her belief that some GOP leaders are too beholden to Trump, potentially undermining democratic processes. “He knew those claims of fraud to be false,” she asserted during an interview, emphasizing her concerns about the future of the Republican Party.
Despite her shift away from the party line, Cheney remains rooted in Republican values, having aligned with Trump during her early congressional career. However, the events of January 6, 2021, marked a turning point for her. After the Capitol riot, she openly blamed Trump for the chaos, a stance that led to her removal from leadership and subsequent electoral defeat in 2022.
Cheney’s efforts to endorse Democrats may seem surprising, given her conservative background, but they reflect her belief in the necessity of principled leadership. As she continues to engage in political battles, her message resonates with those who share her concern for the future of the GOP and the direction it is heading. Though her influence has waned in a party that now predominantly supports Trump, Cheney’s mission underscores her determination to carve out a space for Republicans who prioritize integrity over partisanship.
He should , but I doubt he will because in MY opinion, he was the TRAITOR that certified an “election” the whole country KNEW was RIGGED and STOLEN, BUT that is what happens when the “deep state wealthy elite CABAL”, billionaires, “enforcers”, use BRIBERY and “DEATH THREATS” against “officials” (including the justices of the SCOTUS), that were presented MOUNTAINS of evidence of FRAUD, and rigging including videos OF the “poll workers”, and 2000 “mules” openly committing fraud as well as proof of foreign “operators” using the internet, military satellites , and “codes” “provided” by crooked military personnel, on the “voting machines that WERE PROVEN to be hooked to the internet. BTW, one instance was this person at our embassy in Italy, was caught, said he would “provide” NAMES, of who gave him the codes, and access to the satellites, and (of course) NOTHING was done. I’ll say it was a safe bet he was “silenced”.
You said it perfectly! I would like your permission to print it out, if you don’t mind.
