Top Republicans Worried About Kamala
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) recently issued a stark warning to fellow Republicans about underestimating Vice President Kamala Harris’s potential to challenge former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential race. During an interview with political commentator Tucker Carlson, Lee expressed concern that Republicans might be making a critical mistake by dismissing Harris’s chances of winning.
Lee highlighted that Harris should not be underestimated, noting that she has a plausible chance of emerging victorious in November. He pointed out that the media seems to be heavily favoring Harris, which could play a significant role in her campaign. Lee criticized media outlets for softening the portrayal of Harris, particularly regarding her former role as the “border czar”—a title she was given when she was appointed to tackle immigration issues at the U.S.-Mexico border.
“They are downplaying some of her past statements and positions,” Lee remarked during his segment on the Tucker Carlson Show. “There’s a noticeable effort to overlook her controversial comments, from her support for defunding the police to her advocacy for aggressive climate change policies and the Green New Deal.”
Lee expressed his concern that the press might be glossing over Harris’s record, potentially giving her an unfair advantage. He warned that the media’s backing could help Harris overcome Trump in the election, urging Trump supporters to take this threat seriously.
Although a recent Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump leading Harris by a narrow margin of 2%, this is a decrease from his previous 6-point lead over President Joe Biden before Biden exited the race.
When Trump first declared his presidential bid in 2016, Lee was skeptical, concerned that Trump’s policies might not align with conservative principles. However, after a challenging beginning, Lee built a supportive relationship with Trump. He stood by the former president during the 2019 impeachment proceedings and condemned Trump’s recent New York hush money conviction as “a sad day for America.”
In a recent interview with the Dispatch, Lee reflected on his evolving stance. “Despite our differences on certain issues, Trump has aligned more closely with Republican values than I initially anticipated,” Lee said. “In several areas, I was pleasantly surprised by how things turned out.”
I will not vote for her that’s for sure. If she gets in this country will be so screwed up. There will be no 2nd amendment and we won’t be able to protect our home or families the only ones that will have the guns are the terrorists, cartels and other bad people also the border will still be letting illegals in nothing will be done she also will ban all gas vehicles no way will I buy a stingin EV who will be able to afford them no one and what about college kids.
