Steven Bannon Wants To Raise Taxes On The Wealthy
Steve Bannon, a former senior adviser to President Trump, recently made waves with his remarks about taxing the wealthy and corporations. In an interview with Semafor, Bannon emphasized the need for higher taxes on large corporations and the wealthy, arguing that it was essential to balance the nation’s budget and reduce the burden on everyday working Americans.
Bannon, a vocal supporter of populist economic policies, made it clear that to achieve tax cuts for the middle class, the government would have to take a harder stance on high-income earners and big businesses. “We have to increase taxes on the wealthy,” Bannon stated. “Where does the tax revenue come from? Corporations and the wealthy.” He went on to suggest that while some people would resist these changes, the burden should be shared, with working people ultimately paying less than the elites.
During his presidency, Donald Trump championed tax cuts, especially through the 2017 tax reform, which he described as one of his greatest accomplishments. He advocated for cutting taxes on middle-class earners and even proposed reducing the corporate tax rate to 15%. However, Bannon’s recent remarks signal a shift in focus, arguing that in order to fund pro-worker policies, some of the tax benefits for the rich and corporations may need to be rolled back. He said, “We’re all partners in this, everybody’s going to take a little pain, but the working people are going to take less pain than you guys.”
In a speech to the New York Young Republican Club, Bannon reiterated his belief in populist tax cuts that would benefit ordinary workers—specifically, cutting taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security. However, he acknowledged that to offset those cuts, taxes on the wealthy would need to be increased. “Both parties got us into this,” Bannon said, adding that only populist nationalists could fix the economic problems facing the country.
This approach reflects a growing sentiment within parts of the Republican Party, which sees addressing income inequality and corporate influence as key issues moving forward. While it may seem counterintuitive to some conservatives, Bannon’s call for tax hikes on the wealthy aims to ensure that tax cuts for the middle class can be sustained without exacerbating the national debt.
“Joe Rogan Calls Biden Pardoning His Son ‘Fair,’ You Agree?”
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! just because a politician has the ability to pardon criminals, does NOT mean that they should pardon family/friends. let that be handled only by a future politician that has NO connections/conflict of interest with the person affected.
