The absence of former President Donald Trump from the GOP presidential nomination candidates participating in July 4th parades has been reported by The New York Times.

According to Newsmax, Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, clarified that this was not due to a deliberate avoidance of traditional campaigning during the holiday. Cheung pointed out that Trump had held a rally in South Carolina on the preceding weekend, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations. Additionally, Trump had attended the Moms for Liberty conference in Philadelphia on Friday and made a stop at Pat’s King of Steaks, a well-known destination for politicians in the city.

Although Trump did not partake in the customary parades, his campaign still intended to have a substantial presence in various parades and patriotic events in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, engaging with voters who were dissatisfied with President Joe Biden’s leadership, as per Cheung.

David Kochel, an experienced Republican adviser and strategist in Iowa, acknowledged that Trump operates according to a distinct set of rules but benefits from his celebrity status and having served as president, granting him greater flexibility.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis planned to participate in two New Hampshire parades—the Wolfeboro and Merrimack parades. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, former Texas Representative Will Hurd, and Michigan businessman Perry Johnson would march in the Amherst and Merrimack parades. South Carolina Senator Tim Scott would also be present at the Merrimack parade. Former Vice President Mike Pence intended to walk the parade route in Urbandale, Iowa, while entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy would participate in the Merrimack parade in New Hampshire.
