Trump Joins The Senate?
Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, is making her case for why she should be appointed to fill Florida’s vacant Senate seat. The seat was left open after Senator Marco Rubio was tapped by President Trump to serve as Secretary of State. Lara Trump recently appeared on Fox News to discuss her potential candidacy, emphasizing her qualifications and the unique advantages that come with her family name.
During the interview, Lara acknowledged that some might view her surname as a benefit, while others could see it as a challenge. “It depends on how you look at it,” she said. Regardless, she believes her proven record and experience speak for themselves. The Trump family, she pointed out, has been actively involved in politics for nearly a decade, and the Trumps have called Florida home for over three years. This, she believes, strengthens her connection to the state and its voters.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be responsible for appointing someone to fill the Senate seat, which will remain vacant until a special election in 2026. Lara Trump sees her experience as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) as an important asset in this race. Since assuming the role in March, she has played a key part in the RNC’s efforts to increase voter turnout and improve fundraising efforts, crucial tasks that helped secure key victories during the 2020 election cycle.
Lara was confident that her experience in the RNC, combined with her family’s history of public service, makes her a strong candidate for the Senate seat. “I’ve got a proven track record,” she stated. “Having the last name Trump might add a little extra attention, but my work and dedication speak for themselves.”
