FBI Director To Get Fired?
Former Vice President Mike Pence has stated that if he becomes President, he will remove FBI Director Christopher Wray from his position. Pence emphasized that he believes President Biden’s policies align with those of former President Donald Trump.
According to Fox, Pence, who recently launched his Republican presidential primary campaign, touched on various topics. He expressed concerns about the Department of Justice’s missteps under Trump’s leadership and highlighted the potential consequences if a different Republican is elected, including the risk of America losing its standing on the global stage.
Pence asserted that the American people have lost faith in the Department of Justice and pledged to clean house at the top level of the department if he assumes the presidency. He specifically mentioned his intention to dismiss Wray, who was appointed by Trump. Pence also addressed his evolving relationship with Trump, acknowledging that they were friends in the past but implying a shift in their connection. He stated that he cannot defend the serious charges outlined in the recent indictment against Trump.
Regarding Trump’s plea of not guilty to federal charges related to the retention of classified records at Mar-a-Lago, Pence affirmed his pride in the Trump administration’s overall record. However, he pointed out the differences between the materials found at Mar-a-Lago and those discovered at his own residence. Pence, a former governor of Indiana, explained that he fully cooperated with authorities and promptly handed over the materials. He acknowledged the mistake and took full responsibility, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding classified information.
Pence also acknowledged that the Trump administration fell short of expectations in terms of spending, which has contributed to the current national debt of nearly $32 trillion.
