New Trump Victory Scares Biden
This is devastating news for Democrats.
In a recent poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports, former President Donald Trump has emerged with a significant lead over President Biden in the 2024 White House race. The survey, released on Friday, indicates that 46% of likely voters support Trump, who is the presumptive Republican nominee, while 36% back Biden in a five-way contest. Independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West garnered 9% and 2% of the vote respectively, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 1% support.
In a head-to-head matchup, Trump maintains a lead with 49% support compared to Biden’s 40%. The poll also highlighted that 7% of voters prefer another candidate, while 4% remain undecided. These findings illustrate a notable advantage for Trump according to the Rasmussen Reports survey.
It’s important to note, however, that this poll stands out from others in the 2024 presidential race. According to a FiveThirtyEight average of recent polls, Biden and Trump are neck-and-neck, with Biden slightly ahead at 40.7% versus Trump’s 40.4%. Similarly, a RealClearPolitics average shows a tight race with Trump leading Biden by less than a point in head-to-head matchups (46.1% to 45.2%) and by 1.9 points in the broader five-way race (42.1% to 40.2%).
Former President Trump highlighted his lead in the Rasmussen poll in a post on Truth Social, underscoring his commanding 10-point advantage over Biden. The survey also revealed that a majority of voters (54%) disapprove of Biden’s performance in the White House, with a significant portion (59%) believing the government is not doing enough to address issues related to illegal border crossings and visitor overstays.
These poll results paint a complex picture of the current political landscape, showing varying levels of support for the candidates depending on the survey methodology and voter demographics. As the 2024 election approaches, these numbers will likely fluctuate, influenced by evolving political dynamics, policy debates, and campaign strategies employed by both Trump and Biden.
