Biden's Team Says His Age Is His Strength, Do You Agree?

NBA Star Announces Presidential Run?

Is he backed by the Obamas?

During a recent interview on CBS Mornings, NBA star Stephen Curry, who has very close ties to Michelle Obama, hinted at the possibility of delving into politics in the future. When questioned about the potential of a “Steph Curry for president,” Curry responded with a tentative “Maybe,” signaling a hint of openness to the idea.

Pressed further on his political inclinations by CBS News’s Jericka Duncan, Curry acknowledged his interest in leveraging his influence for positive change. He emphasized his commitment to using any platform available to him to make a meaningful impact on society.

However, Curry clarified that he wasn’t exclusively eyeing the presidency as his political trajectory. Instead, he expressed openness to exploring avenues within or outside of politics that could facilitate substantial change.

The interview, initially focused on Curry’s new children’s book titled “I Am Extraordinary,” which aims to instill confidence in young readers, naturally transitioned into a broader discussion about his societal contributions.

Curry’s involvement in political discourse isn’t new. As a board member of Michelle Obama’s “When We All Vote” initiative, Curry has actively promoted non-partisan efforts to increase voter registration.

In a 2022 Rolling Stone interview, Curry voiced concerns about the divisive rhetoric prevalent in American politics, particularly referencing former President Trump. He underscored the importance of countering such rhetoric with urgency and unity.

Curry’s stance on political engagement became evident when, during Trump’s presidency, he declined the traditional White House visit after winning an NBA championship. This decision prompted a reaction from Trump, who withdrew the invitation via Twitter.

While Curry’s interest in politics isn’t yet fully formed, his willingness to consider various avenues for effecting change underscores his commitment to leveraging his influence for the greater good, whether through sports, literature, or potential future political endeavors.
