Is Biden 'Afraid' Of Press Conferences Like Media Claims?

Trump Incriminates Himself

Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe stated that Donald Trump’s conduct during the CNN town hall regarding Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith’s inquiry into his purported mishandling of documents has caused him to worsen his situation.

According to Newsweek, there has been a significant amount of criticism directed towards CNN after they gave airtime to the 2024 Republican front-runner on Wednesday at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Trump spoke in front of a live audience primarily consisting of potential GOP presidential primary voters.

In a back-and-forth lasting around 75 minutes, Donald Trump provided further elaboration on his thoughts about the classified documents that were found during an FBI search of his private Mar-a-Lago residence on August 8th.

Trump’s CNN performance was one long series of confessions, strongly accelerating Special Counsel Smith’s timeline toward multiple indictments,” Tribe explained.

The inquiry being conducted by Jack Smith is not limited to investigating whether Donald Trump obstructed the government’s efforts to recover the documents. It also encompasses Trump’s involvement in the events that led up to the January 6th, 2021 Capitol riot.

During the CNN town hall, Donald Trump informed the host, Kaitlan Collins, that he took possession of the documents and was authorized to do so. He further asserted that the Presidential Records Act, a law that has been in effect since 1978 following the Watergate scandal, gave him the complete right to take the documents.

“When we left Washington, we had the boxes lined up on the sidewalk outside for everybody. People are taking pictures of them. Everybody knew we were taking those boxes,” Trump explained.

When asked about whether he had displayed any classified documents to anyone subsequent to leaving the White House, Donald Trump responded by saying, “Not really.” He then qualified his statement by adding, “Not that I can think of.”

While most of America knows Trump is innocent, it’s important to remember that the Democrats who are trying to destroy him will use these statements against him. Trump needs to run and win the 2024 presidential election and him possibly digging himself into a deeper hole will hurt everyone.
